黄檗山萬福寺、お魚の開梆（かいぱん）

京都旅行の間に訪れた黄檗山萬福寺。ゆっくり拝観していたら大きいお魚が出現っ！さすがに驚きました…o(*’o’*)o笑 これは開梆（かいぱん）という鳴り物で、叩いて時間を知らせます。目を閉じない魚で、不眠不休を表しているのだそうですよ☆【所蔵：京都萬福寺】

This is Manpuku Temple in Kyoto. I was calmingly admiring the temple when suddenly a huge wooden fish appeared !! The wooden fish is called “Kaipan” and it tells us the time by hitting the wood. Like the bell at a church.
